Lead Service Line Inventory
October 31, 2024
New Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations have tasked us with building an inventory of every water service line within our District, including both the Utility and Customer-owned sides of the meter. The purpose of the inventory is to identify and report any risks in the water system that would adversely affect the health of our customers due to lead contamination, with the goal of prioritizing and removing these risks.
We have completed our initial inventory and are happy to report that we have not identified any lead lines in our district. However, we have 52 customer-owned lines remaining to be investigated. We are continuing our investigation of these lines and hope to have them identified within the next 2 to 3 months. We will be sending a notification of unknown service lines to any residents with lines that are made of unknown materials after November 16, 2024. If you receive one of these notices, please contact the office at 918-774-9869 for more information including how you can assist us in our investigation.
As always, District 4’s primary mission is to provide all residents with safe drinking water and help our residents identify any potential hazards that may exist on their service side. Additional information regarding lead and it’s impacts on our health may be found at the EPA’s website at https://www.epa.gov/lead.
